EASD 2021 Abstract Submission Guidelines

If you are planning to attend EASD 2021, you should review the following guidelines before submitting your abstract. The first rule is that the author who will present the abstract must be the first one in the author block. Additional abstracts will not be forwarded to the Review Committee or reviewed. Co-authors may submit abstracts, but the presenting author must be present at the virtual EASD 2021 Annual Meeting to present the abstract.

100 years of insulin therapy

In 2021, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin, the first life-saving diabetes treatment. The discovery of insulin, developed by researchers at the University of Toronto, revolutionized the treatment of diabetes and saved countless lives. In addition, patients were encouraged to eat freely and to calculate their insulin dose based on the carbohydrate intake. The advent of rapid-acting insulin analogues radically altered the treatment process. Since the first patient was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, the method became the standard of care.

Today, almost every person with type 1 or type 2 diabetes uses insulin. It is no longer seen as a death sentence, and more than half of patients with type 2 diabetes use insulin. Self-management is possible, but for many people without access to affordable insulin, glucose monitoring technology, or diabetes support, the disease remains a mystery. However, the progress made with insulin is a testament to how far we've come. So what should we do next?

Today, biopharmaceutical advances have made insulin from cows and pigs more efficient and faster. The modern methods of insulin delivery have eliminated the need for syringes and vials. Continuous blood glucose sensors make insulin delivery more physiologic. The diabetes community is also extending nutritional advice and education to those in need. So, what can we look forward to in the next 100 years? We'll never be able to thank these inventors enough for making it possible for millions of people to live longer and healthier lives.

A century ago, the discovery of insulin was only the beginning of this amazing drug. The first human insulin was produced in 1922. By the time the first diabetes patients were diagnosed, the discovery of autoantibodies to insulin was well underway. And later, it was discovered that the antibodies against insulin may play a role in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes. This could provide a target for future immunotherapies that prevent the development of autoimmune diabetes.

Rules for submitting abstracts

If you are submitting an abstract for presentation at easd 2021, please follow the rules outlined below. Once your abstract is accepted, you will receive instructions on how to present it. If you would like to present an abstract but do not wish to register, you can still submit it and pay a standard fee. You will be notified by email when your abstract is accepted or rejected.

For the purposes of the Abstract Submission Process, please make sure that your manuscript is in English. You should create an account on MyEASD using your email address and password. If you are a first-time author, you should create an account with your email address and password. This will help you to access the submission system when you need to make changes or additions. Additionally, you can edit your manuscript or write it from scratch. Once you have submitted your abstract, you will receive an email with a reference number. You must use this number in all correspondence with the organizers.

Once you have submitted your abstract, you can submit your paper online. The deadline to submit an abstract is October 1. You must use the conference website to upload the abstract. The EASD virtual meeting platform will have an audio feed of your presentation. This will allow attendees to preview your presentation before the actual presentation. You will receive detailed instructions once your abstract is accepted. These instructions will be sent to the contact e-mail address of the presenting author.

Remember to follow the embargo policy! Abstracts selected for presentation will be considered preliminary until they are approved for release. EASD reserves the right to adjust this embargo at any time. If you violate this policy, your abstract will be removed from ADA's 82nd Scientific Sessions and will be banned for two years. This embargo policy applies to all submissions, not just posters.

Registration process

You can register to attend the EASD Congress through the website. The registration process requires payment with a credit card. The payment should be made before the deadline of 13 September 2021. You must have a MyEASD account to access the registration system. All registrations should be made in Euro and the family name of the delegate must be written as a reference. Once you have finished the registration form, you must pay the fee by credit card.

You can also reply to other participants' tweets using the hashtag #easd2021. The account will remain open until 1 October 2021. You can use your account to post updates on the event. During the conference, you will receive two CME credits.

You can also reset your password in MyEASD, if necessary. Those who do not have an account can create one. The registration process will take you no more than 10 minutes.
